I've decided to pack up my blog and move it!  I'm still working out the design and content, but you can now find my blog at:

My word art freebie was such a success, I decided to make a second set!  Thank you for all the sweet comments!!  I really enjoyed reading them, and would love to see your layouts/cards using the word art.  You can comment here with a link/photo or email me.

Without further ado, here is part two (haha, I'm a poet and didn't know it - I can make a rhyme anytime!)

Real quick...

This must be a record - 4 days of blogging in a row!  And yet another scrapbook page to share!

I just wanted to post this before I call it a night.  I used the collection, "My Heart's Dream" which is the February Blog Train.  There are 100 designers involved in making one huge kit - and it's all free!  AND I got to use my new word art!  YAY!

Happy February!

Well, technically, it's not February for another couple of hours.  But that won't stop me from celebrating!

I was playing in Photoshop this evening after my little girl went to bed, and instead of scrapping, I decided to create some word art.  I've always loved playing with words and different fonts, but I never really used my own word art on my digital scrapbook pages.  That will end today!  And because I'm feeling generous, I'm offering them to you as well!  Just click on the preview to download the files - they are available in .png and .psd formats.  If you like them, please leave me some love!

I'm on a roll!

Today was such a lazy day, I didn't feel like doing much at all... so I scrapped!  I've been trying desperately to take a picture of my daughter's new teeth, but she's just not having it!  So I'll keep trying.  But in the meantime, I'll settle for the cute snapshots I do have!

Here's another layout using elements from a variety of kits.  The Lovely frame is available on Anna's blog.  The kits used are Sweet Valentine, Cherries on Ice, and Beautiful, available at Delicious Scraps

In case you're wondering, the stems, ribbon and flowers are from "Beautiful," the journalling tag and hearts are from "Cherries on Ice," and the background (heart) paper is from "Sweet Valentine."

Until next time...

Not even one and already turning heads!

It's so funny!  Everywhere we go, my daughter captures peoples' attention.  We went to Mickey D's for breakfast this morning - YAY for hotcakes - and the owner came over to talk to her... she scored some free coupons and a little toy camera.  Our next stop was Home Depot where some salesman for water softeners stopped us.  After telling me that I've got a little heartbreaker on my hands, we got a free bottle of water to go with our (I mean "my") popcorn!

This evening, we went out to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse.  Luckily, we didn't have to wait long to be seated (thank goodness for calling ahead - the wait time was about one hour!).  But once we got to our table, she did it again.  She made quite an impression!

Okay, enough bragging. Here's something I won't brag about.  We have had 6 storms in the past 6 weeks.  And we are expecting our 7th on Wednesday.  The last one dumped more than 17" of white stuff, and it's a huge mess!  Our street was not thoroughly cleared, and there's just so much of it that the roads feel so narrow.  Hubby has to work through the bad weather, so it's up to me to shovel our walkway, driveway and sidewalk.  Otherwise, strange people come knocking on my door asking if I will pay them to take care of it.  So when the princess naps, I shovel.  Fun, fun!  <insert sarcasm here>  I got lucky this time around - I was out shovelling while the neighbor was out with his snowblower.  I take back all the bad stuff I ever said about him!  (Just kidding, I have nothing bad to say... yet.)  He cleared my sidewalk AND the back part of my driveway.  That easily saved me a back-breaking hour.  The snow was so thick and heavy!  I don't know how much we're expecting this time around, but I'm hoping it's not a lot.  I'm tired of it already!

I finished up two layouts today that I have been working on.  I'm really happy with how they came together.  Anna makes it easy with her beautiful kits!  There are always so many pieces to play with, so many possibilities.  The first is created using "Fresh," which is available at Delicious Scraps.  The alphabet is from "Bliss," also available at Delicious Scraps.

And the second is created using the "Sweet Valentine" mini kit, available on Anna's blog.  I was trying to snap a photo of my daughter's new teeth, but instead, she kept lunging forward, reaching for the camera.  I didn't get the shot I wanted, but the picture turned out so cute, I just had to scrap it!

And that's it for tonight!  I can't believe January is almost over.  We're inching closer to spring, and I can't wait!  :)

"Every day," Part 2.

I couldn't resist!  This kit is fabulous, there is so much in it that I couldn't just create one layout.  So here is my second page, using "Every Day" from Delicious Scraps, based on sketch #130 from Creative Scrappers.

I love catching my daughter's expressions on camera.  And I especially love this one where she seems to be deep in thought about something - in all honesty, I think she was looking at her dad while we were trying to make her laugh and smile for the camera!  She just looks so content with her little giraffe and her thumb in her mouth!

It's been a beautiful, cold, scrappy day!

We just had another snow storm - a total of 5 or 6 inches of the fluffy white stuff, this time around.  Luckily, there was nowhere I *had* to be, so I spent the day playing with my daughter and scrapping during her naps.

My sister is super-excited about planning my daughter's first birthday party.  At first I thought it was too far away to get psyched about it, but I'm having fun looking at all things Princess.  I even scrapped her party invitations already, and a little save the date card to match.  They turned out better than I had planned!  One detail down, several more to go!!

But that wasn't it.  I also created a layout using "Every Day" by Delicious Scraps which will be available on Friday.  It's such a beautiful kit, lots of pretty colors and patterns, and plenty of cute little embellishments.  I had a great time layering everything, trying to create something different than my usual.  I plan to print all my digital layouts and place them in a 6x6 album, which is why the photo sometimes seems to take up the page - I want to be sure it will stand out when it's printed!

Here it is:

This is one of my favorite pictures.  I just love how the camera caught her laughter, even though she wasn't looking directly at it.  She is such a happy baby, I am so lucky!

Hopefully, I will get some more scrapping done tomorrow.  I'd love to play with the other elements in the kit that I wasn't able to use on this page!  Stay tuned...

...and the craziness continues!

Why does it seem there are less hours in the day, the busier you are?  Between shopping, housework and family, it feels as though bedtime comes quicker each night!

I did find some time to scrap this weekend.  I worked on a Christmas layout for hours before finally deciding to stop adding to it!  I much prefer to keep my pages simple, but I couldn't help myself.  Hopefully, I didn't ruin it!  ;)

This is called Two Christmases.  The kit I used is called "Happy Holidays" and can be found at Delicious Scraps.

Here are two other pages that I scrapped while on vacation.  Yes, I scrapped on my vacation!

Little Cheerleader was created with the kit "Cherries on Ice," which can be found at Delicious Scraps.  I haven't added in my journalling yet, still thinking about how I'd like to word it!

And finally, Say Cheese was made using So Sweet from Delicious Scraps.  I recolored some of the elements to match the purple in the photo.

Thanks for looking!  Comments are always welcome, I'd love to hear what you think about my work!  There will be many more to come... I have almost 200 pictures from Christmas alone!!  Hope you're enjoying the first few days of 2011  :)

New year, new blog!

Posted on December 29, 2010 at 1:51 PM Comments comments (0)

Wow, it's been an entire month since I last posted!  But it's been one crazy-busy month.  My daughter and I spent two weeks in Canada with my family, then came back to the US to spend a week over Christmas with the in-laws.  I must admit, it felt great to finally sleep in my own bed!

Our mini-vacation was great.  I was a little anxious about travelling with a baby, but it was for nothing.  She was an angel, slept the whole way there and back.  It makes a mommy proud to hear strangers comment on how well behaved she was, while in the row infront of us, two little boys were whining and crying for an hour about wanting to watch Caillou.

I got to meet up with old friends, stuff myself with mom's cooking, and watch my daughter have a blast being spoiled by her grandparents and aunts.  She received more toys than she can play with and clothes to take her into her first birthday.  She is one lucky little girl!  And so are we, to have her in our lives  :)

I decided to change up my blog design to celebrate the new year.  I'm hoping to have more layouts to post in the next few days.  Silly me, I thought it would be a good time to do a little rearranging and reorganizing, but I seem to have made a bigger mess than I had planned!  Once I get all that put away, I'll have more time for my poor, neglected blog...
